Now, I'm not here to bring down the mood, but it's important to acknowledge that golf hasn't always been the inclusive and fair sport we know today. In the past, it was mostly seen as a sport for the wealthy and white, leaving people of color and women on the sidelines. I mean, come on, it's 2023 and we're still dealing with this? It's time to change this.

Now, let's talk about the elephant on the green - the gender golf gap. Ladies, if you're a working woman, you know the struggle is real when it comes to finding time to play. The midweek Ladies' Day? Forget about it. Squeezing in a round on a Saturday? Good luck if the club's competitions are reserved for the guys. It's like the golfing deities decided weekends were only for the dudes! Are we really surprised that this doesn't sound like a universally attractive proposition? I mean, who wants to put all their golfing eggs in one basket and play a marathon session on a Sunday? That's just not practical or fair.

But, here's the deal. Society is evolving, and golf needs to catch up if it wants to stay relevant. Golf has to adapt, evolve, and step into the modern world. Whether it's having competitions that welcome everyone, regardless of gender, or making tee times accessible to all, it's high time we break down those barriers and make golf a game for anyone and everyone.

Great news ladies, because the Women in Golf Foundation is also making some serious waves. These powerhouse individuals are true forces to be reckoned with when it comes to promoting women's involvement in golf. They're shouting from the rooftops, "Hey, golf should be for everyone!" And I'm here, raising my club high and shouting back, "Absolutely, it should!" They're empowering women to embrace this incredible sport and providing them with the opportunities they rightfully deserve.

But guess what? We aren't just spectators in all of this. We can jump right into the action too! We can support these organizations, spread the word, and help make golf a welcoming space for all. Together, we can drive golf into a future where everyone is represented ireespctive of gender, race or ethnicity.

I've got some pretty exciting news, making golf more inclusive not only brings us joy, but it also boosts the economy as well. According to Forbes "A new study, released in conjunction with the 15^th annual “National Golf Day,” reveals that golf has a direct economic impact of almost $102 billion on the U.S. economy, a 20% increase from the previous findings in 2016 ($84 billion)."

Additionally, a recent Economic Impact Study, commissioned by the American Golf Industry Coalition and conducted by the National Golf Foundation, has revealed significant findings about golf's contribution to the U.S. economy. According to the study, golf's direct economic impact is approximately $102 billion. However, when considering indirect and secondary impacts, such as job creation, the total contribution exceeds $228 billion.

The industry is not just a source of entertainment but a substantial economic driver, supporting over 1.65 million jobs. Notably, more than one million of these jobs are directly associated with the golf industry. This highlights the industry's significant role in the employment sector.

Encouraging more women to participate in golf could amplify these benefits. Increasing female participation has the potential to boost economic impact, job creation, and the overall growth of the industry. The data underscores golf's extensive influence beyond the sport itself, suggesting that its promotion could have far-reaching positive effects on the economy.

When we open up the world of golf to more women and minorities, we're expanding the player base and creating new opportunities for growth. Think about it—inclusivity means more golfers hitting the greens, more golf equipment being sold, more rounds being played, and more folks diving headfirst into the golfing world. And all of this translates into a vibrant and thriving golf industry.

And let me tell you, these golf-crazed tourists bring some revenue to local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and, of course, those awesome pro shops we all love!

The numbers don't lie. When we make golf more inclusive by encouraging more women participation, we're not just breaking down barriers and making the sport accessible to everyone. We're also injecting some major cash into our economy, creating new opportunities for growth, and attracting a wide range of investors and visitors.
